Are you prepared for the opportunities that the RWC 2011 may present, and how can your business benefit from New Zealand being in the spotlight?

The Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC) during September and October next year offers New Zealand businesses a golden opportunity.

The opportunities may be direct (supplying goods and services for the games or businesses associated with the games) or indirect (visibility of New Zealand in international news).

How can you tap into these opportunities? How can your brand or business benefit from New Zealands exposure in the media and increased worldwide recognition? Click here for ideas

Many businesses will be looking to gear up for the RWC 2011. They may need anything from upgrades to their premises, better lighting, signage, software, office equipment, and more capacity, to improved connectivity so they can offer internet and Wi-Fi access, as well as a host of other products and services. For extra back office resources – click here

Can you form joint ventures with businesses that will be involved? For example, develop ‘package deals’ that involve your products or services.

Do you have special local knowledge of where to go, where to stay, or the best attractions? Can you produce a service or guide material based around this knowledge?

Can you tender for services, secure contracts or benefit in other ways from the influx of visitors? Every town, city or region hosting visitors are likely to be planning infrastructure improvements to everything from stadiums to roads and signage. Register now for the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) and the Industry Capability Network to receive regular news of tender opportunities.

Can you take the initiative? Rather than wait for tenders, if you have products or services that will help to make venues more attractive, user-friendly or welcoming, consider making proposals and pitches to local authorities.

And if you’re going to need additional office resources to capitalise on these opportunities during the World Cup – click here for Virtual Office support

Malcolm Crouch receives BNI Notable Networker Award in Recognition of Outstanding Performance

BNI Notable Networker award winners represent the best of the best networkers. They are professional business people who support others in achieving success and by doing so, that success comes back to them. They demonstrate that ‘what goes around comes around.’

Malcolm Crouch, Smart Howick Pakuranga franchise owner with his wife Pam, was recently given this award for outstanding referrals. Congratulations!

The most Notable Networkers are nominated by their fellow BNI members. The award reflects Malcolm’s active participation in the referral network, number and quality of referrals and positive attitude.

“I don’t remember a time that I wasn’t connecting people with one another,” says Malcolm. “I enjoy helping local business owners by finding the expert to solve their problem – and introducing them. Sometimes Smart is the expert and sometimes it’s my Business Brunch chapter members.”

Pam and Malcolm are master networkers, living their social and business life with the BNI philosphy of “givers gain.” They use all their networks and contacts to assist their clients and local businesses.
